Heat oil, add half quantity of whole spices, add brown onion with ginger garlic paste, chili powder and chicken, ¼ cup water, fry till oil separates.
Add 1 cup yogurt, cover and cook till chicken tender, if required add ½ cup water, add lemon juice, mix saffron with the remaining yogurt and divide into 2 portions.
TO ASSEMBLE:
Now add half the portion of saffron mixed with yogurt, coriander and mint on the chicken, spread half of the rice over the chicken.
Now sprinkle the remaining yogurt and saffron mixture, add the remaining rice.
Cover tightly, leave it on dum for 15 mins, serve with kachumber.
