Arabic Chicken Shorba Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 350 g Boneless Chicken (Thigh Pieces)
  • 2 medium Tomatoes
  • ½ cup Water
  • 2 Green Cardamoms
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 1 tsp Black Peppercorns
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil
  • 2 Chicken Stock Cubes (Optional)
  • 1 cup Chopped Onions
  • ½ cup Instant Oats
  • 1 tbsp Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Fresh coriander
  • 1 tsp Paprika Powder
  • Salt To Taste
  • 2 litre Water
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • Black Pepper Crushed
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves

Instructions
 

  • In a processer jug ,add tomatoes, carrot, water, blend well & set aside.
  • In a bowl,place muslin cloth,add cinnamon sticks,green cardamom,cloves,black peppercorns,bay leaf & tie to make a potli (bouquet garni) & set aside.
  • In a pot, add cooking oil, onion & sauté until translucent, add garlic & mix well for a minute.
  • Add chicken & mix well until it changes color.
  • Add paprika powder,salt,mix well & cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add blended paste, mix well & cook on medium flame for 3-4 minutes, now add chicken stock cubes & mix well.
  • Add prepared potli (bouquet garni),water,mix well & bring it to boil,cover & cook on low flame for 25-30 minutes. After remove & discard potli (bouquet garni) & turn off the flame.
  • Mash the chicken with the help of masher.
  • Turn on the flame,add instant oats,mix well & bring it to boil,cover & cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes.
  • Add lemon juice, fresh coriander & mix well. Sprinkle black pepper powder, fresh coriander & serve hot!
