Wash the dal and soak it in hot water for 15 to 20 minutes, then drain the water, add milk and boil it (keep in mind that the dal remains open).
Fry a finely chopped onion in two tablespoons of cooking oil until golden brown and add salt, garlic, turmeric, ground red chillies, hot spices and blended tomatoes to it and fry well and when the ghee separates, add half a cup of water. Add and prepare gravy.
In a frying pan, fry a finely chopped onion, finely chopped ginger and solid red chillies in two tablespoons of cooking oil until golden and spread them over the dal.
Add salt and keep it on low flame for five to seven minutes.
