Gujrati Daal Chawal Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups Split Red Lentil
- 2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- Salt To Taste
- ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
- 2 tsp Red Chili Powder
- 2 Tomatoes Chopped
- 6 Green Chilies
- 2 tsp Chia Seeds (ground)
- ½ cup Lemon Juice
- 10 Curry Leaves
For Tarka:
- 4 tsp Oil
- ¼ tsp Mustard Seeds
- ¼ tsp Red Chili Flakes
- ¼ tsp Cumin Seeds
- Boil Rice For Serving
Instructions
- Split Red Lentil (boiled) with ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric, ground chia seeds powder and pepper. Blend it in a blender for a minute or two.
- Cook with tomatoes, green chilies, curry leaves and lemon juice for 15 minutes.
- For tempering, add oil and other ingredients in a frying pan. Let it brown.
- Add tempering on the lentils then serve with rice.
