Classic Shepherd's Pie Recipe
Ingredients
For Mince Preparation:
- 500 gm Chicken Mince
- 1 Onion
- 1 tbsp Garlic
- 1 tbsp Green Chilli
- ½ cup Carrots
- ½ cup Peas
- ¼ cup Mushrooms
- 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp Sriracha Sauce
- 1 tsp Rosemary
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 1 cup Chicken Stock
- 1 tbsp Fresh Coriander
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt To Taste
For Mash:
- 500 gm Potatoes
- ¼ cup Cheddar Cheese
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 Egg Yolk
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper
- Salt To Taste
Instructions
Mince Preparation:
- Heat oil in a pan, add onion, sauté for a minute, add garlic, green chilli and fry for another minute.
- Now add mince and fry until colour changes.
- Add all your vegetables and fry until water dries.
- Now add black pepper, chilli flakes, Worcestershire, sriracha sauce, salt, rosemary and cook for 3/4 minutes.
- Add flour and mix well.
- Add chicken stock and keep stir for 2 minutes until becomes a thick curry and sprinkle coriander.
- Keep your mince in a side.
Mash Preparation:
- Mix all mash ingredients and combine well, keep it in a side
Assembling:
- Pour prepared mince in a baking dish, spread evenly.
- Next, layer with prepared mash and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle some cheddar cheese topped with chili flakes. Bake for 30 minutes at 200 C.
