In a bowl add dal mash and water, soak for 30 minutes.
In a pot heat water and bring it to boil. Add soaked dal and boil until 80% done.
In another pot heat oil and add onion puree, cook for 4-5 minutes. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute.
Add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes get soft.
Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chili flakes, salt, coriander powder, and cook until oil separates.
Add chicken and cook until chicken is half done. Now add boiled dal and cook until it’s fully tender. Your shahi dal mash is ready.
In a pan heat oil and add red button chilies, ginger, green chilies and garam masala powder. Cook for a minute.
Pour the prepared tarka over dal mash and garnish with green coriander. Your Shahi Dal mash is ready to serve.
